We have a bit of a crush on summer. Let's just say... we enjoy late sunsets, long walks on the beach and sun-kissed cheeks. As a love letter to summer, we've hand crafted a vibrant cocktail recipe. Introducing, Mixly Cocktail Co's "Summer Fling," a fresh new cocktail recipe that captures the essence of summer. This perfectly balanced cocktail blends Mixly's best-selling grapefruit jalapeño mixer with the beloved taste of Aperol, the botanical touch of gin, and the subtle floral hints of elderflower liqueur. Impress your summer-fling or join the self-love club and shake one up to treat yourself on a hot summer day.
The Summer Fling Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Grapefruit Jalapeño Mixly
- 0.75 oz Aperol
- 1.5 oz Gin (we used Loon Liquor's: Loon Man Gin, Old World)
- 0.25 oz Elderflower Liqueur (we used Loon Liquors: Lac Coeur - Elderflower Liqueur)
- Ice
- Grapefruit twist (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Gather all ingredients. Make sure you have a cocktail shaker, a strainer, and a coupe glass. Tip: chill your coupe glass in the freezer for an extra refreshing cocktail!
- Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add Mixly Grapefruit Jalapeño, Aperol, gin and elderflower liqueur to your shaker.
- Shake for around 15 seconds.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with a delicate grapefruit twist. As the oils release from the twist, they will infuse each sip with a slight citrus aroma.
Mocktail tip: Swap out gin for your favorite NA gin alternative, use an elderflower syrup in place of the liqueur, add some grapefruit and orange bitters for a lovely tasting mocktail.
